And spring break has arrived. Most seniors are completely done with their entire senior project! Congratulations! However, seniors need to remember to stay focused when returning to school the week after next.
Seniors who still need to present their project, good luck! Those who are done remember to keep your grades up says senior counselor Christi Gilmore. Gilmore also said, “While it is spring, it is not the time to slack off on their studies. Colleges do look at the final grades from your senior year to determine if the student will be successful at the next level.” For the select few who haven’t turned in any thing, spring break is the cut off and you will no longer walk.
Government teacher, Terry Waitley, has been grading seniors on their presentations. Thus far, “they have been great. The students have done well and I have found the material they are presenting for the most part very engaging.” He also said that “everyone has passed, the only problems have been students that didn’t practice or prepare their speeches have not made time so they have to redo.” Students who have NOT presented take these words of wisdom into consideration.
On the other side of graduation, college, College Advisor Janalee Hope has been very busy. Hope wishes to inform seniors that there are two boards, by Mrs. Peterson’s class room, are full of scholarships! You can also find scholarships online at this web page: https://sites.google.com/a/
Shout out to the Junior class who Hope is meeting with currently. She is trying to help “get them ready for the SAT, helping them think about options after high school, and encouraging them to join us on college visits.”
