As we know by the rouge hearts displayed in almost every hallway, one of the most dreaded day has come again: Valentine’s Day. Most may pass the day binge watching rom-coms on Netflix with the sweetest date of all, Ben & Jerry’s. For all you lucky ducks who actually have a S.O, this doesn’t apply to you. Let’s get this lone train on its tracks with five ways to shake up your V-day when you don’t have a plus one.

1.  Go to the movies.

Check out that new film that just came out or the one you’ve been dying to see. Valentine’s Day is the best time to catch a film on your own while still snagging those special price deals. Our local cinema is also offering a free v-day bouquet when you purchase a ticket. Don’t overthink about going alone, use the money you save for that extra large bag of popcorn!

2. Throw a dance party

It’s time to update that playlist of yours to the ultimate feel-good songs and throw a solo dance party around the house. We all jam out to Womanizer with killer dance moves once in a while, no shame.

3.  Take some BuzzFeed quizzes

Spend the day taking all the fatuous tests BuzzFeed has to offer. Who knows, you might end up finding out what your inner potato is or which member of One Direction you’re destined to be with.

4. Get those half off deals

Listen, you may be lonely but there’s always something to find in the supermarket aisles, half off too! Take advantage of all those sales! Go to the v-day aisle in Walmart, you’re sure to come out 15 heart shaped chocolates later. Treat yourself.

5. In the name of love, sing your heart out

Go explore downtown and find a karaoke place. Venture with a few pals to a cozy kick-back spot and have a karaoke night. It’s the most you’ll talk (or sing) about “your” love life.
