Jerome High School – Mr. Tracy, principal at JHS, is hardworking and makes time for each student with a busy schedule. When he is not at JHS, he likes to BBQ on the weekends, he watches sports and enjoys attending different musicals on Broadway. He has 4 kids in grade ranging from kindergarten to high school. His favorite staff relationships are with the coaches and band director, Hiroshi Fukuoka because they always have the best time with each other. Of course, as principal, he is needed to do most of the discipline regarding students, even though he does not enjoy it. He puts out his best effort to connect with the students here at JHS to give them the best experience possible.
He was inspired to become a principal when he was working as a businessman in Missouri. He worked at a furniture store that would attract customers by making them pay high prices for cheap items. “I didn’t like that, so I went into education,” Mr. Tracy said. “So I started interviewing principals and studied for it. His first experience in education was in a small K-12 school where he was a history teacher and a baseball coach. Then he moved to another bigger school and taught the same thing and coached basketball. Mr. Tracy’s plans here at JHS this year are to allow students to express themselves through music, and having more fun activities and games available during lunch once COVID clears up. “Nobody is alone in this crazy year, I encourage everyone to keep their head up high and stay strong through these difficult times.”
