Olympic Boycott

Olympic Boycott

With the recent outrage about the internment camps in China, there has been pleas to boycott the 2022 Olympics which were to be held in Beijing, China. Although it is not been set in stone if America will go through with the boycott, many people have posed strong arguments for the boycott.

The main point of contention is the internment camps in China. In an interview with BBC News, Tursunay Ziawudun alleged that “…women were removed from from the cells ‘every night’ and raped by one or more masked Chinese men.” This is one part of the many things alleged to have happen within the camps. Ziawudun also alleged that she was “…forcibly injected every 15 days with a ‘vaccine that brought on nausea and numbness.” These allegations are quite severe, if they are to be believed. People are outraged that America would even consider participating in the Beijing Olympics if the things Ziawudun described are happening in China.

The Beijing 2022 Olympics are left in uncertainty. Hopefully things start looking up for the Olympics. The Tokyo games are being played in the summer of 2021. Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games is a Nintendo Switch title for people who need to indulge their craving for the Olympics.
