Grammys 2021

Los Angeles- On March 14, 2021, the Grammys Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This year was the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony. According to Grammy.com the Grammys are, “The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentations of awards that have more popular interest.” Grammy.com also states that the first ever person to win a Grammy award was Bobby Darin. He won the Best New Artist.

Every year there are 75 awards given at the Grammys, which are all presented at the ceremony. There are four general awards given for records, song of the year, best new artist and album. All the artists that win are given a golden model of a gramophone. According to The New York Times, some of the winners at the Grammys this year are Billie Eilish with the record of the year with her song “Everything I Wanted.” Another one is Taylor Swift’s “Folklore,” for the Album of the Year. The Song of the Year was given to H.E.R with their song “I Can’t Breathe.” Also the Best New Artist was given to Megan Thee Stallion.

Even though there were no fans allowed to go, many artists still got to perform at the Grammys. Some of the artists were Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa and Da Baby, Taylor Swift, BTS, Lil Baby, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, Roddy Rich, Doja Cat and many more other artists. Hopefully next year fans will be allowed to go and cheer on their favorite artists in person.
