Founder of BLM Buys 1.4 Million Dollar House

Malibu, California-  Patrisse Khan-Cullors the co-founder of BLM is under fire for buying million-dollar homes in white neighborhoods. She purchased 4 high-end homes, some of them being in wealthy white neighborhoods. at the website, Black Enterprise says, “According to property reports referenced by NY Post, Khan-Cullors is accused of purchasing four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the US. She’s also said to have been eyeing property in the Bahamas at an exclusive luxury beachfront resort outside Nassau where condos are priced between $5 million to $20 million.”.

The big question going around is, did she use the money from the organization BLM? Some signs point to yes. Black Enterprise says, “After news of Khan-Cullors luxury living hit the press, other members of the Black Lives Matter organization called for an investigation. ‘If you go around calling yourself a socialist, you have to ask how much of her own personal money is going to charitable causes,’ said Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter Greater New York City. ‘It’s really sad because it makes people doubt the validity of the movement and overlook the fact that it’s the people that carry this movement”. On the website, it also says, “Why hasn’t my family’s foundation received any assistance from the movement?” Michael Brown Sr. asked in a statement last month, Yahoo News reports. “On behalf of many activists in the St. Louis area, I’m joined by Mike Brown Sr., the father of Mike Brown Jr. Today, we hold Black Lives Matter accountable,” community organizer Tony Russell said.”.

Freshman, Lainie Shropshire says, “I do not think that this is ok. I think that she should have to consult others before making the choice to keep it for herself. On the other hand, she is the founder and does have quite a bit of power. But that should not be a reason to take profits for yourself!” There are many opinions on if what Patrisse Khan-Cullor was right or not.
