Marching Band

Jerome High School- This week at the Jerome High School, the marching band sign ups are ending soon. The band needs more people to join, so if you’re interested sign ups are in Mr. Fukuoka’s classroom. It’s relatively inexpensive and they will be playing AC/DC themed songs for competitions and field shows. They also do parades in Jerome and Ketchum. They perform for homecoming and they also perform at football games during halftime.  The cost of marching band depends on what instrument you play. It can vary on cost on the high end is $150. This is due to uniforms, bus fees and music arrangement.

Being in the marching band you get to play during football games, perform during halftime at football games, play at basketball games, play in parades and you get to compete against other marching bands. The marching band goes to the Great Basin Conference where they compete against Burley, Minico and Wood River. Last year, the marching band’s theme was Hansel and Gretel, which they performed at football games and at the Southern Idaho Marching Band Showcase. When you’re in the marching band you also get to go to different camps to help you prepare for performing and playing in a marching band.

If you want to show some school spirit and have something fun to do during the summer and part of the school year, go sign up for the marching band. You can make new friends, go to different places to compete, perform at football games, play at basketball games and go to fun marching band camps. Go find Mr. Fukuoka for sign up sheets.
