7 Car Pile up

7 Car Pile up

Recently there was a 7 car pile up that had 1 semi 2 cars and 4  pick up trucks three were lost their lives. It is said that all vehicles were heading north on Highway 51 and the officers say the cause was high winds and loose dirt from farmers field was the cause of  the wind and dirt caused low visibility. Highway 51 was closed for up to about 4 hours according to the ISP officer but they did it for the safety of other people. When the wind was blowing at 45 mph and it took out a power pole was also taken out at the moment of the accident and caused a power outage for a bit. The accident also had to have traffic diverged so that way other vehicles wouldn’t end up in the accident as well. The power company had to come to the scene of the accident to put up a new power pole so that they can get power back to everyone that had power. The wind was blowing 45 mph and that is able to easily pick up dirt off the ground and put dirt into the air. The accident happened on May 1,2021 and it went into investigation the very next day. The accident happened around 4:00 p.m on a Saturday afternoon. The vehicles that were involved in the accident was a 2002 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a semi-trailer the driver behind the wheel was Joseph M. Inglin 24, 2018 Honda CRV, driven by Daniel M. Holland, 32 of Meridian. Holland’s passengers were Lisa M. Holland, 34, of Meridian; Laurie A. Bloomquist, 38, A 2020 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Tim Lusk, 60,A 2010 Ford F150, driven by Isias Armenta Valdez, 39, A 1996 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by Douglas D. Meyer, 74, A 2020 Ford F250, driven by Stephen A. Zandes, 34, A 1996 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Miguel A. Martinez Rosales. There aren’t many accidents that go on in Mountain Home on highway 51 .This is why it is important for farmers to get water on the fields so that the wind doesn’t make a dust storm and it’s easier for people to see. On one of the vehicles it was so bad that they had to cut off the top of a truck and pull it back to get the people out to give them medical attention that they needed. The other vehicles weren’t too bad but there were still 2 others that had suffered injuries. There was one deceased at the accident and then the other 2 were considered decided at the hospital of St Lukes. The other people had scrapes and bruises from the accident which is a good thing but still feel bad about the one that was lost on May 1,2021 saturday evening around 4:00 p.m.
